Philippians 4:5–6: 5 Let your reasonableness (gentleness) be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything...

"The Lord is at hand." Powerful argument when you look on it. And based on how you structure the song it sounds more like an argument for the preceding statement; Let your reasonableness (gentleness) be known to everyone, for/because the Lord is at hand.

But based on the ESV* punctuations it seems like an argument for the subsequent statement; The Lord is at hand, therefore do not be anxious about anything...

Worthy of contemplation

I get what you mean, it sounds like "the Lord is at hand" fullstop vs the Lord is at hand [so] do not be anxious.

It's one argument it seems from 4-7. I think its good to let the sound correspond with the argument but ultimately I can't do that unless I study it before I sing it. Which is why I think its so important to learn the verses but not stop there, at some point, and I think as often as possible, we have to look at the actual text.
